Hey Guys,

Figured I would start my journey on a new mod project on my PC case.

Broke my white case and had to purchase a new corsair....
Unfortunately it was black which is just unacceptable.

I have two KFA2 980Ti Hall of Fame, Gigabyte G1, so everything in the case is red and white.

So naturally need the case red and white, plus new internal lighting and a new reservoir in red to hold red UV reactive coolant.

Step one of course is the paint.... I'm using five types.

mtn 94 Vivid Red,

mtn 94 polar white, Clear coat gloss, primer and white Plasti Dip for large metal application. (In case i am tired of having a white PC case... you can peel it off.)

I have never actually done this type of spraying or modding before and will also be cutting the actual metal out of the case to allow for other options as well to be installed so it should be a nice little journey and ill post it to the thread if anyone wants to see the trip i am going on or has tips while i do this.

Best,
Gravey

EDIT 20:41 08,06: Make sure to do the spraying outside and allow pieces to fully dry and air before bringing into office.

Painting of these four pieces is completed although im torn leaving it with a matt finish or clearing it up.
A couple bits of dust i had to clean off from the cats but the paint is smooth though unsure if you can see that in the pictures.

Tomorrow will be cutting the front of the case to allow for heat sensors and led controls.
Followed by painting the inside red and exterior white.

Note @Self: Upload smaller images.
2nd Note @Self: Clean Dust off first then take nicer IN FOCUS pictures.

The white and red looks nice, but raises the question as to why you didnt buy a white one to start with......

Easy answer actually... I did not feel like waiting as it is on back order and its just more fun to actually do something.

I think a Matt finish would look better.... Anything that's finished in 'Matt' is going to be awesome... I was born and will no doubt be finished as 'Matt' and you all know I'm awesome

Seriously though, getting a good gloss finish is going to take several layers of a decent clear finish and may need polishing afterwards to get that shine, plenty of room for error. On the flip side it will last longer and be better protected.

I finally found the pics of the last time I painted a case... my CM690 years ago from a dull grey steel to a metallic finish, this was before you could buy them looking good for a reasonable price! drilling out the rivets and rebuilding was a pain!

Today I actually get to cheat on the project. Friend has a paint tent which is portable for when his garage is too full or paint bay in use.

So will get pics when i can. :)

Sandblasted the metal so far to remove prior paint and expose the base finish.

Nice job, I'm gonna change the colour of the grills on my airflow 540 to red as well and keep the rest black..
