Yesterday I decided to give my rig a quick blow out with some compressed air, that turned out to be a full scale, well overdue, clean!

This is Why:

Never had a deep clean in 18 months running and it used to be on the floor in my last house, temps are loads better now!

So I thought I'd take the opportunity, while it was clean and open to upload a few pics and specs, after all, I'm always on about it. My rig is ageing, CPU and GPU are both 3 generations old, and it still performs excellently.

Specification:

CPU - i7 920 (D0 version, fully unlocked) -
Stock - 2.66GHz @ ??v
OC - Stable at 4.2GHz @ ??v - Normally run at 4.0GHz. OC of more is possible but I'm just not happy with that amount of volts without a full mobo water cooling kit. Max Temp on all cores of 62c when Stressing CPU and GPU (prime95 & Furmark)
Mobo - Gigabyte X58a-UD3R - Standard
RAM - 12GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance @ 1600 stock, 1.5v
GPU - MSI HD 5970 2GB (Dual GPU Crossfire card) -
Stock -
Core Clock (x2) 735MHz @ 1049mV, Mem Clock 1010
Overclock (what I run at, it is stable higher but I can't remember settings) -
Core Clock (x2) 950MHz @ 1190mV, Mem Clock 1250MHz
Max Temp 68c
In BF3 temp is around 53-54c per core with Vsync on and GPU @ <65% utilisation
HDD - SandDisk Extreme 240GB Sata III SSD

PSU - XFX Pro edition 850w Silver 88% efficiency
Case - Coolermaster HAF 932
Cooling - Where my rig gets a bit special compared to the norm - Custom Water Cooling loop -
Pump Top - EK-DDC X-TOP
Case Fans - Stock 230mm front intake, 1 x 120mm Coolermaster fan bottom intake
Fan Controller - NZXT Sentry LX

Rig After a clean - She aint pretty, but she's mine!

Ignore the temps on the fan controller, I hadn't put in the sensors when I took the pictures and hadn't reset time etc after I took the battery out!
